Verify any claim — claimit.ca.gov (official State site) [email protected]

Start Your Recovery

Three steps. You verify before you sign.

Whether we contacted you or you found us on your own, recovery follows the same open process — and it starts with you checking the facts on the State's own site.

Got it — thank you. A Trowbridge will reply from [email protected]. If you decide to proceed, your agreement will arrive by email for electronic signature through Dropbox Sign — review and sign on any device. No payment is ever due upfront.
You do this

1. Verify the property on claimit.ca.gov

Look up the Property ID — from our letter, or from your own free search — on claimit.ca.gov, the State of California's official unclaimed-property site. Confirm the owner name and amount before anyone signs anything. Our walkthrough shows exactly how.

Together

2. Sign the agreement we email you

We prepare the written agreement California requires — it states exactly what property is being recovered and exactly what our fee is, never more than 10%. It arrives by email for electronic signature through Dropbox Sign; review and sign on any device, no printer needed.

The State does this

3. The State pays your business directly

We file and manage the claim with the State Controller's Office. When it's approved, the State sends payment straight to your business — your money never passes through our hands.

Tell us where to start

We will never ask for bank credentials or Social Security numbers. Our fee is capped at 10% by California law, stated plainly in your agreement, and owed only if your recovery succeeds.

Prefer plain email? Write to [email protected] — a Trowbridge reads every message. And remember: you can always verify the property first, free, at claimit.ca.gov.
