Verify Before You Trust
Check any claim on the State's own site.
Every first contact from us includes a Property ID so you can confirm the money is real — on claimit.ca.gov, the State of California's official unclaimed-property site — before you sign or share anything. Here is exactly how, in about two minutes.
1. Go to claimit.ca.gov directly
Type claimit.ca.gov into your browser yourself rather than clicking a link in any email — ours included. That habit protects you from imposters everywhere, not just here.
2. Search for the Property ID
Use the site's property search and enter the Property ID exactly as it appears in our letter or email. You can also search your business's name and see everything the State holds for it. Searching is free and requires no account.
3. Confirm the details match
The record should show your business as the owner, with an amount consistent with what we told you. If anything doesn't match — or the ID isn't there at all — stop and walk away. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
4. Look us up while you're at it
Our business registration is public record on the California Secretary of State's site at bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov. The State Controller's own consumer guidance on unclaimed-property investigators — including the fee rules that bind us — is at sco.ca.gov. We'd rather you check than take our word for it.
Verified and ready to talk?
No pressure either way — the money is yours whether you use us or not, and filing on your own is always free.
